Revolutionizing Softness in Diaper Top and Back Sheets

Softness has become a key factor in diaper purchasing decisions, alongside functional factors such as absorbency and liquid management. This demand challenges manufacturers to enhance overall comfort with full functionality.

Trützschler Nonwovens’ carded Air-Through Bonding (ATB) technology enables the reliable processing of ultra-fine sheath/core bicomponent fibers - 0.8, 0.6 and soon 0.4 denier - into lightweight, two-layer nonwovens, which are becoming the premium top and back sheets for diapers and other absorbent hygiene products. The process delivers a noticeably softer, loftier hand-feel while maintaining liquid control properties.

Achieving such performance requires precise handling of ultra-fine fibers. Trützschler Nonwovens addresses this through its modular T- BLEND fiber preparation system and advanced NC- X nonwoven card. This integrated setup ensures uniform fiber distribution, minimizes neps, and enables consistent production of lofty, homogeneous webs at industrial production speeds.
