Paws, Pads, and Performance: The Role of Nonwovens in Pet Care Innovation
As the global pet care industry continues to grow, so too does the demand for high-performance, absorbent products tailored to the unique needs of pets and their owners. While absorbent hygiene products for humans and pets often share similar material technologies—such as nonwovens and superabsorbent polymers—their design and performance requirements differ. This presentation will explore the critical distinctions between pet and human absorbent hygiene applications, with a focus on how pet physiology, behavior (e.g., scratching, shifting, elimination habits), and usage scenarios shape the selection and performance of nonwoven materials.
From training pads and pet diapers to wipes and reusable liners, we’ll examine the role of nonwovens in ensuring durability, rapid fluid acquisition, odor control, and comfort in pet products. Case studies and product comparisons will highlight real-world applications and emerging trends across the pet hygiene landscape.
Whether you're a nonwoven supplier, product developer, or marketer, this session will offer key insights into designing with performance—and paws—in mind.
